About Hillwood Training
A Short History
Hillwood Training originated as part of Capability Resources Pty Ltd., which was established in 2000, in the NSW Hunter Valley.
Capability Resources was established to help industry achieve a safe and productive workplace by providing quality products and services. As a single point of contact we helped companies achieve and maintain success in the three critical areas of compliance and safety – competent people, safe work practises and fit for purpose equipment.
Specialising in project management, nationally recognised training (as an RTO), equipment compliance (ITS) , MDG25, power generation, cutting and welding safety and incident investigation. We have been a Licenced TapRooT® provider since 2006.
In 2016 the business was restructured; TapRooT® Training and investigation services and BMA Examiner Training are now with Hillwood Training.
Hillwood Training is the Licensed TapRooT® provider for Systems Improvement Inc. to deliver TapRooT® training courses in Australia, and Asia.
Hillwood Training is also the only provider in Australia of BMA Approved Examiner Training.

As Hillwood Training and previously as Capability Resources, we have worked with customers from a wide range of industry including Oil & Gas, Mining, Energy, Aeronautical, Construction, Defence, Drilling, Health, Manufacturing, Petrochemicals, Shipping, Rail, Utilities and Councils, Waste Management , Agriculture, and Higher Education.
Our new logo is a homage to the Nertney Wheel – as it represents our continued commitment to proving training and services for the achievement of a controlled work environment.
